<aside> 👋 Hi there! First of all, just wanted to say a quick thanks for being here - out of all the projects on this catalog you could have chosen to view, you have just selected mine, and I’m so grateful to have you! Over the past few weeks, I have put a lot of work into this project in the hopes that it can one day help out astronauts aboard the ISS propel some real, solid change in the way that we look at recovery for long-duration spaceflight. But for now, I present to you version one of my proposal to eliminate one of the most pressing health effects astronauts have to deal with during their time away from Earth.
Happy exploring!

Hey hey! I’m Beatrice — a 15-year-old from Toronto, Canada who can talk about all things space exploration, astrophysics, and aerospace engineering for hours on end. I am currently a TKS Activate student, a lifelong fellow at the Villars Institute, and CDL apprentice program alum.
Alongside this project—which we’ll get to in a quick second— I have written and published another research paper outlining my proposal for solving the solar radiation issue in space to make lunar habitation a possibility via the generation of an artificial magnetic field.

Recently, I was invited to speak at the largest tech conference in Europe at Web Summit Lisbon 2023. As a speaker, I had the privilege of chatting with and interviewing several executives at Shell on the future of renewable energy. Additionally, I have pitched numerous hackathon and moonshot challenge presentations at TKS, winning my team first place at the annual TKS Innovate Moonshot Challenge presentations.
Some more about me—at the age of 13 I created my own handmade jewelry brand, LuzulaCreations, and since October of 2021, I have dispatched orders to countries like Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, France, Denmark, Switzerland, Costa Rica, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia.
At 14, I began to realize how little my generation was being exposed to emerging technologies and sciences, and the world of business outside of these programs I was a part of. I started to brainstorm how I could help to shine more light on less conventional career paths, and make that information accessible to youth such as myself. In March of 2023, the Curious Minds podcast was born. Since then, my co-host and I have had the pleasure of interviewing executives at companies like Microsoft and Amazon, a SpaceX engineer, a senior AR/VR engineer at Google, and even a 2019 Physics Nobel Prize-winning astronomer. Our podcast has been heard in 50+ countries and we release episodes every other Friday.
