The Knowledge Society (TKS) offers extracurricular technology and science programs to students between the ages of 13 and 17. TKS aims to educate students and expose them to the latest trends in entrepreneurship and the STEM fields, while building real-world skills and shaping foundational mindsets. The program is offered both in-person and online for students around the world. TKS is committed to protecting student personal information and helping to positively shape the “digital footprint” that students leave when they participate in the program.

We are asking for your consent to allow your child to fully participate in the program. Your consent is completely optional, but your child cannot participate in the program without your consent.

We ask that you acknowledge and agree to the following (the “Agreement”):

Attendance Policy

If there is a conflict and your child cannot attend their session, your child should inform the Program Directors prior to the session so we can give your child the resources they need to stay current in the program. Students may also attend another cohort if they cannot attend their cohort’s session.

Cohorts

All students accepted to TKS are placed into a cohort. Each cohort is assigned a specific day and time, and the program content delivered is consistent across the cohorts. Although your child will be assigned a specific cohort, as a member of TKS you are joining the entire TKS community, including the TKS alumnus. We will host special sessions where students across all cohorts and alumni can meet each other.

Project Based Work

All students accepted into TKS will develop a focus project in an area of emerging tech they are passionate about as part of the program. This project consists of four stages and will involve writing and sharing findings online, as well as speaking with expert mentors in their field of choice.

Payments

We have two options for paying the balance of your TKS tuition:

  1. Single Payment: Tuition can be paid in full up front (with a $500 discount for doing so).

Please note that the $500 single payment discount does not apply to recipients of financial aid or scholarships.

  2. Monthly Payments: After a non-refundable deposit, the remaining balance is paid in 10 equal instalments.

Instalment payments are processed automatically on the 1st of each corresponding month, and are charged to the same payment method used for the deposit.

We accept payment via credit card, debit card, and pre authorized bank transfers. If this will be an issue, please contact us for alternative methods.

In the event of late payment or non-payment of the tuition fees, then, without limiting TKS’s rights or remedies, TKS may, upon prior written notice to you, suspend your child’s ability to participate in TKS. In addition, (a) the overdue amounts will accrue late interest at the rate of 1.5% of the outstanding balance per month, and (b) you will pay any additional fees charged by our third party payment processor, where permitted by applicable law.

Please note that tuition payments are not subscription based. Payments are applied towards to total outstanding balance of tuition, and full payment of tuition is required in order to complete the program.
